Goals/Mission
(Read below the goals/mission for the youth vision's)
It's common to see many businesses and organizations to have goals
and missions. Many sum all their goals into a mission statement. Although we as a youth group don't have a structured
mission statement, we are all we'll aware of the goals we have set in front of us and our ultimate mission. Our number
one goal is to reach the lost and lead them to Jesus Christ. As a youth group, we target younger people (kids, teens,
and young adults) by various ways. We have set up an outreach called "U-turn" that is a program used by many other Foursquare
churches. (To get the whole explanation, go to the U-turn Outreach page) During this time, we invite anyone to come
and join in the many activties like basketball, kickball, fooseball, air hockey, and acade style basketball. At
a time called "half-time", all of the kids/teens are gathered to hear a message and offeared to accept Jesus Christ
as their Savior. It is awesome! (We have more goals for that ministry though! Check it out here!) U-turn is the Warriors of Love form of outreach. As a youth group more intimatly, we seek to form a more closley
knit group who participate in church activities and youth outing's. As the Warrior's of Love, we seek to be disciples,
and then, disciple those from U-turn into a walk with the Lord to become a disciple themselves. So yeah, we got a lot to shoot
for, but by putting it in God's hands and obeying Him, we will most bertainly accomplish our goals; not for our glory, but
only for the glory of God!
Visions
|
"What's
a Vision?" Good question. It's not about telling the future or, in this sense, it's not about God giving you a vision
through your mind's eye. (Please ask by email if you want to know more about this subject-check the contact list)
This is all about what we feel will happen and may happen, only of course if we follow God's direction. As a
youth group, we have many things planned and tons we want to get accomplished. One particular time, though, we were
challenged to put all these plans into the course of 5 years. Pastor Sam wanted us all to write a vision for our youth
group in 5 years. We all thought about the same thing - "We don't know what's going to happen!" But we did it.
Surprisingly, it wasn't hard to fill 5 years up. Whether each mentioned it in their vision, we all took into consideration
that we had to put something into the youth group for our visions to be fulfilled. Most importantly, nothing will
happen unless we have our hearts right with God, including being in the Word of God, praying daily, and living or daily lives
like God.

Wow, it is hard to think about 5 years time all at once. That
is so much time, although it seems to fly by. So much can come from 5 years, or nothing could come from it. In five years,
I believe that if the youth stay devoted and continue to try their best to achieve their goals, we will have more then a U-turn
café. I believe that a bigger portion of the U-turn center could be completed. We could be drawing so many kids in during
U-turn that would constantly need more staff to help. I believe that if the youth that we have now stay devoted and if we
act as a lighthouse to teens that are searching, we will draw people in, and therefore, we will become bigger. If we are obedient
to God, and we are diligent in praying and reading His word, I believe that we will gain things that we never thought we could
have. God knows what we need and I believe that if we ask for his guidance constantly and stay obedient to his will, we can
achieve things that just seemed like a dream. I remember the vision that my uncle had at summer camp a few years ago. He saw
two hallwaysin one hallway, the people had their bibles closed, and nothing was happening. However, in the other hallway,
the people had their bibles open, and that hallway was flourishingkind of like we envisioned this U-turn center. That is so
true. We may achieve things like gaining kids in the youth group, making this U-turn center come to life more, and hey, we
might even get a new van for the youth group! But I believe that things will start to really take off when we are diligently
obeying God.

My visions of this youth group are that we will grow in youth
and become stronger in God. I want to see this youth group do more together and show more kids around us what God is all about
and also to tell them what he has in store for us. Also, I would like to see us get more involved in U-Turn so we can help
those kids over there. Whenever the Café gets done, I would like to see us running it and having a great time. I also want
to see us having a great time and wanting to do it again. If we get everything straight between our youth group, I think we
can get everything do we want to do. We just really need to work at it together and hard. When we do that I'm hoping everything
will come together. God will do it when the time is right!

God defiantly blesses those who walk in the Word and in Him. I believe that our youth group will overflow
with teens young and old if we are diligent and steadfast in our walk with the Lord. If we commit to being guides to unsaved
youth, they will wonder what is so exciting about us and automatically tell everyone about it. I see our café being one of
the must popular places to go in West York. I think the café will not only be a way to hang out and get something to eat,
but a place where youth are around at all times to offer wisdom and comfort to those in need. Not only will the café be popular,
but we will also have the whole basement in the school renovated into a youth center with excitement to fill the whole place.
I think that we will be recognized not necessarily out of popularity, but for our goal, our mission, and what we would be
doing at the present. I believe West York will be changed and that people from many different counties will travel to see
what God is doing. I think it will be a great training ground for youth that want to go into the ministry field. I see a variety
of ways we all will be able to get involved. With this growth, the church itself would automatically grow. I see many adults
with hardened hearts around me in this world, but along side them, I see kids and teens of any age searching for the way.
Youth today are looking for the answers and in many cases, their search is not fulfilled by parents. I think that is why we
as youth in the church should reach out and by doing that, our youth group would flourish!
*We will have more of the visions up later!
